Welcome to Spark Studios! We are glad you stopped by.
Why “Spark?” A spark happens at the beginning of something–a fire, an idea, a painting, a composition, a collaboration. Our spark occurred on a 2015 road trip to Roswell, NM. After a day exploring the “extraterrestrial” offerings there, we stopped by the Anderson Museum for Contemporary Arts and were impressed by the quality of the art there, and the fact that there was a Bosendorfer grand piano in a main room–and a lineup of musicians waiting to play it! We noticed this phenomenon in other cities as well–the Dairy Center for the Arts in Boulder, CO and the Hoffman Center in Manzanita, OR are two other examples where various arts are displayed, taught, and performed in the same venue. That got us thinking–why not collaborate across traditional boundaries? Music and art have traditionally been enjoyed together, but not created together. It is our goal to explore and share our journey down this path, as our spark grows into something larger.
